Executive Director People for PSEO 

Full/Part Time: Part-Time

Regular/Temporary: Regular, Contract

Work Environment/Modality: Hybrid 

Priority Deadline: Application review will begin on 07/21/2026. We are accepting applications on a rolling basis. 

Salary: $16-18 per hour based on qualifications and experience 

Tentative Start Date: Early August 2026, Contract Position through end of academic year, Renewal + Extension possible.


About the Job:


The mission of People for PSEO is to work with families, students, education institutions, and lawmakers to promote, defend, and expand opportunities for Minnesota students via the Postsecondary Enrollment Options (“PSEO”) program through speaking, writing, conferences, social media, and other functions.


We are seeking an Executive Director to manage the day-to-day operations of People for PSEO. The right candidate must be ready to work with a diverse group of stakeholders, establish a great working relationship with the board of directors, and set a course for our short and long-term strategy. Additionally, the candidate exhibits a passion for promoting and defending PSEO in Minnesota.


The Executive Director reports to the President of the People for PSEO Board of Directors.


Essential Functions 

Responsibilities

  • Promote, defend, and expand PSEO opportunities for high school students.

  • Build, maintain, and execute an annual workplan under the guidance of the Board of Directors. Provide monthly metric-oriented workplan reports. The Executive Director Report shall consist at least of:

    • Executive Summary

      • Finance and Fundraising Report

      • Marketing and Outreach Report

      • Operations Report

      • Membership Report

      • Additional topics requested by the Board of Directors

  • Develop task-based workflow documents and delegate tasks to board of directors, staff, and volunteers (as applicable).

  • Maintain organizational records, including donors, members, finances, legal documents, and other records as directed by the Board of Directors.

  • Create, facilitate, and nurture relationships with external stakeholders.

  • Publish and disseminate a People for PSEO Annual Report among external stakeholders.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Board President and Board of Directors that support the mission and vision of People for PSEO.


Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Current or Former PSEO Student. Please indicate that you are a current or former PSEO student on your resume and/or cover letter. 

  • Minnesota Resident 


Preferred Qualifications

  • Public Speaking Skills

  • High School or College Student enrolled or recently enrolled in PSEO 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Demonstrated experience working effectively with and across diverse communities

  • Google Suite knowledge 


During the legislative session, the Executive Director will need to be in-person in St. Paul at the capitol for some days.
