Meet Matthew Vilaysack! He saved approximately $21,000 in tuition expense, earning 62 credits, from enrolling in the PSEO program at the University of Minnesota Twin Cities and North Hennepin Community College -- starting his journey in 11th grade! His goal is to study computer science, possibly branching into other studies while in college. He plans to enter the tech industry for a few years and owning his own business down the line.
MATTHEW: My name is Matthew Vilaysack and I began doing PSEO in my junior year of high school. In my junior year, I attended North Hennepin Community College full time and for my senior year, I did most of my classes at the UofMN and the rest a couple at NHCC. I earned [62] credits during my time as a PSEO student. This definitely helped me prepare for what's to come in my college years. I won't be finishing high school early, but I am grateful that I was able to take college courses for free as a high school student. In the future, I'm planning on studying Computer Science, although I would like to branch my areas of interest further in college. After my college undergrad, I would like to work at a tech company for a few years and start my own business further down the line. I acknowledge that my future is not predetermined, but there is no doubt in my mind that I want to help others with computer technology.
